Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, has made a passionate appeal to the Church to support the present administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, in actualising the Renewed Hope Agenda.

Senator Akume urged the Church to work together with Government for the good of the country.

Segun Imohiosen, the Director, Information & Public Relations in the Office of the SGF revealed this in a statement signed on Friday.

The SGF made the appeal when a powerful delegation of Bishops cutting across Nigeria and the diaspora under the aegis of the Charismatic Bishops Conference of Nigeria led by its President General, Arch-Bishop Leonard Bature Kawas alongside Honourable Regina Akume paid him a courtesy call in his Office.

He said that one of the core objectives of the Church was to support the Government in the area of prayer and proffering advise to those in authority for them to discharge their duties in the fear of God.

He assured them that Mr. President was desirous to transform the country by replicating the giant strides made while holding sway as the Governor of Lagos State across the country in the area of infrastructure, economy, security, among others.

Sen. Akume added that the President is a detribalised Nigerian who is a father of all void of any religious bigotry as it is reflected in all the appointments he has made so far, saying that he is one of the beneficiaries of his belief in one Nigeria irrespective of ethno-religious differences.

He therefore urged Nigerians to jettison sentiments and believe in the capacity of this administration to lead Nigeria to its lofty height.

Speaking earlier, the President General of Charismatic Bishops Conference of Nigeria, Arch-Bishop Leonard Bature Kawas showered encomiums on the administration President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as an all-encompassing government which is exemplified in the appointments in key positions of authority without any bias to any religion.

He added that the present administration is a performing government as seen in the commissioning of great projects across the country.

He assured him of their readiness to pray and support the present administration in achieving its policies and programmes.

Part of the highlight of the visit was the presentation of Meritorious Awards to the SGF and Hon. Regina Akume.
