The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), under the leadership of its National President, Comrade Aisha Ibrahim, warmly welcomes the safe rescue of the school girls and their teachers who were abducted in Oyo State.

On behalf of NAWOJ, I express profound appreciation to the Federal Government of Nigeria for its unwavering commitment and determined efforts in securing the safe release of the victims.

We particularly commend the gallant efforts of the Nigerian Armed Forces, comprising the Nigerian Army, the Nigerian Navy, and the Nigerian Air Force, as well as the Nigeria Police Force, the Department of State Services (DSS), the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA), the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), and all other security and intelligence agencies whose professionalism, resilience, and coordinated operations made this successful rescue possible.

We also commend the Governor of Oyo State for his leadership, cooperation, and unwavering support throughout the operation. The effective collaboration between the Federal Government, the Oyo State Government, and the nation’s security agencies once again demonstrates the power of unity and coordinated action in addressing our country’s security challenges.

This successful rescue represents a significant victory for Nigeria. It rekindles hope among citizens, strengthens public confidence in our security architecture, and reflects the growing capacity, resolve, and determination of our military and security agencies to protect lives, secure communities, and defend the nation’s territorial integrity.

NAWOJ celebrates the safe return of the victims and prays for their speedy physical, emotional, and psychological recovery. We also call for sustained and proactive measures to strengthen security across the country, particularly around educational institutions, to ensure that schools remain safe havens for learning and development.

Once again, we salute the courage, professionalism, and selfless sacrifice of our military personnel and all members of the security and intelligence community who continue to risk their lives daily in the service of our great nation.

Together, we can build a safer, stronger, and more secure Nigeria.

    Signed:
    Comrade Aisha Ibrahim
    National President
