The General Officer Commanding, (GOC) 6 Division Nigerian Army, Major General Jamal Abdulssalam has harped on jointness and synergy in the joint operations area.
A statement signed on Thursday  by Acting Deputy Director, Army Public Relations, 6 Division Nigerian Army, Lieutenant Colonel Iweha Ikedichi said the GOC made the call when he led some commanders and staff officers of the Division on a courtesy visit to the Nigerian Navy Ship (NNS) Pathfinder.
The GOC said that following his assumption of command as the 10th General Officer Commanding, 6 Division Nigerian Army and an earlier visit by the Commander NNS Pathfinder, Commodore Suleman Dantshoho Ibrahim to the Division, it was imperative not just to reciprocate the visit, but to put faces behind names and phone numbers as issues were easier resolved through interpersonal relationships.
He charged officers to take a que from the relationship between Service Chiefs and replicate the success story arising therefrom in the joint operations area.
He drew inspiration from the vision of the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya, which was, A Professional Nigerian Army Ready to Accomplish Assigned Missions Within a Joint Environment in Defence of Nigeria.
The GOC pointed essentially to places the armed forces were operating as a team and the successes being recorded.
He said that the different specialties, rather than separate or divide, should unite with each service leveraging on the resources of the other to achieve set objectives.
The Commander NNS Pathfinder, Commodore Suleman Dantshoho Ibrahim thanked the GOC for the visit and his mentorship over the years.
He recalled the warm and very cordial relations he shared with the GOC despite being of different services.
He pledged the cooperation and support of NNS Pathfinder to the operations of the Division even as he eulogized the cordial relations between the Division and the Ship.
He charged officers to pick role models and follow their paths to make a success in their carriers, describing the General Officer Commanding as an example of a role model.
The high point of the visit was the exchange of souvenirs and group photographs.
