Troops of Sector 2 Operation FANSAN YAMMA In continuation of ongoing clearance operations to restore peace and security across Zamfara State, have achieved significant operational successes, leading to the rescue of wounded civilians, the recovery of intercepted livestock and the retrieval of a stolen vehicle.
Following a distress call regarding an attack by armed bandits on travelers along the Dampo–Rumba Road in Bakura Local Government Area, troops rapidly deployed to the scene.
The troops engaged the perpetrators with effective firepower, forcing the assailants to retreat into the surrounding bush and abandon three injured civilians.
Troops immediately rendered first aid and safely evacuated the victims for medical attention.
The road has since been secured, and aggressive patrols continue along the axis to ensure safe passage for commuters
In another successful interdiction based on credible intelligence, troops stationed around the Magami axis intercepted five trucks carrying a large quantity of suspected rustled livestock bound for Gusau.
A thorough search led to the recovery of 117 cows, two donkeys, one goat, and five cow skins.
To ensure the proper return of the livestock to their rightful owners, the intercepted live stock and items were formally handed over to the Chairman of the Zamfara State Committee on the Recovery of Rustled Animals in Gusau.
Similarly, troops in Tsafe Local Government Area intercepted a stolen Toyota Camry (Registration No. RBC 804CL) following intelligence sharing among joint tracking teams.
When signaled to stop, the driver evaded the checkpoint and fled toward a nearby community.
Troops pursued the vehicle, prompting the suspects to abandon the car and flee on foot.
The vehicle was recovered and secured for further administrative and legal processes.
