The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Tuesday, congratulated the Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke, over his victory as the Supreme Court  upheld his election as the duly elected Governor of the State.
Governor Adeleke had won the July 16, 2022 governorship poll.
This was contained in a statement signed by National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Debo Ologunagba on the Twitter handle of the Peoples Democratic Party, @OfficialPDP.
The PDP said: “The verdict of the Supreme Court, the highest Court in our Country serves as the ultimate triumph of the will of the people of Osun State as expressed at the Polling Units, in their resolve to free their State from oppressive, retrogressive and anti-people forces.
The Party said that the judgement of the Supreme Court had further restored the confidence Nigerians reposed in the institution of the Judiciary and “the hope for the sustenance of democracy in our country.”
The PDP commended the Supreme Court for its courage in upholding justice and reaffirming the saying that “the Judiciary is the last hope of the common man.”
The Party congratulated the good people of Osun State and restated its charge to Governor Adeleke to continue in his stride to reposition and rebuild the State in line with the people-oriented policies, programmes and manifesto of the PDP.
Reactions trailed the congratulatory message on Twitter:
@vicwinz83 wrote: “It is a trick from APC dey made us believe electoral law will work by letting adeleke to win but dey rig presidential elections now they make us believe d judiciary is trustworthy in adeleke case but wil be partial in president obi case, we d Obidient are not fools we are watching u”.
@adeniyioludele1 wrote: “But if the judgement goes the other way ,you will call judiciary names like obedients”.
@onyi_okoronkwo: “Congratulations to @AAdeleke_01 and the good people of Osun State where I served my NYSC program (2014-2015). Light has come in the State.”
