The protracted leadership tussle in the Action Alliance (AA) is finally coming to a definitive end, as the Supreme Court of Nigeria has fixed 16th November, 2026 for the formal withdrawal and dismissal of the appeal filed by Mr. Adekunle Rufai Omoaje challenging the authentic leadership of the party.
This was contained in a statement signed on Monday on behalf of the National Chairman, Action Alliance, Chief Barr. Kenneth Udeze, Esq. by the Action Alliance Media Directorate.
Meanwhile, in a dramatic turn that has vindicated the rule of law, Mr. Omoaje, realizing the futility and incompetence of his appeal, has filed a Notice of Withdrawal dated 28th September, 2026, seeking to withdraw his appeal before the apex court.

What This Means Legally:
With the Notice of Withdrawal, the Supreme Court, pursuant to its Rules, is set to dismiss Appeal No: SC/CV/162/2024.
By operation of law, this dismissal will automatically affirm the subsisting and valid judgment of the Court of Appeal in Appeal No: CA/ABJ/CV/922/2022, which had earlier dismissed Omoaje’s case and affirmed the validity of the Chief Barr. Kenneth Udeze Esq. led National Executive Committee as the authentic and lawful leadership of Action Alliance.
Recall that the Court of Appeal had in a well-considered judgment affirmed Chief Kenneth Udeze as the National Chairman.
Dissatisfied, Omoaje proceeded to the Supreme Court, but has now voluntarily thrown in the towel.
End of The Road For Impostors and Partisanship:
This development marks the end of the road for all forms of impersonation and leadership distraction in the Action Alliance. It is also a clear dead-end for those who have been fueling the crisis.
For years, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has continued to act in a manner that is perceived as partisan and in disobedience to the valid judgment of the Court of Appeal which affirmed Chief Udeze.
With the impending Supreme Court dismissal, INEC will have no other option than to fully comply with the judgment of the Court of Appeal and give full recognition to the Chief Kenneth Udeze-led leadership as the only lawful leadership of the Action Alliance.

A Victory For Democracy:
Reacting to the development, supporters of the party described it as good news and a victory for democracy, internal party discipline, and the rule of law.
Chief Kenneth Udeze, Esq., the authentic National Chairman of Action Alliance, remains the only Chairman recognized by law. The party is now poised to forge ahead united, to mobilize Nigerians and prepare for a resounding victory in the 2027 general elections.
All members and supporters of Action Alliance nationwide are enjoined to remain calm, law-abiding, and disregard any publication from any impostor claiming to act for the party.
