The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, has expressed deep shock over the demise of the traditional ruler of Sankera in Benue State, Abu King Shuluwa, at the age of 79.
This was contained in a statement signed on Monday by Segun Imohiosen, the Director, Information in the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation.
King Shuluwa, who was the Tor Sankera and Chairman, Sankera Intermediate Area Traditional Council and a member of the Tiv Area Traditional Council and Benue State Council of Traditional Rulers, dedicated his lifetime to the service of God and humanity.
The SGF described the late traditional ruler as a lover of peace and unity, whose leadership style has facilitated the harmonious co-existence among the people of Sankera kingdom which comprises Katsina-Ala, Logo and Ukum Local Government Areas.
He extolled the late Tor Sankera as a political colossus whose sway as a three-time Commissioner of Benue State contributed immensely to the political and economic development of the State.
Senator Akume commiserated with the Government and people of Benue State, Benue State Council of Traditional Rulers, his immediate family and prayed God to grant eternal repose to the soul of the departed.
