    Senator Akume

    By Miriam Humbe

First Vice Chancellor of the Federal University, Wukari, Taraba State, (Engr) Prof O. Geoffrey Okogbaa has warmly congratulated Senator George Akume on his appointment as the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, (SGF) by President Bola Tinubu.

Prof. Okogbaa, a Diasporic Nigerian described the appointment as well deserved in view of the vast experience the former Governor of Benue State had amassed in his political career spanning over several decades.

Prof. Okogbaa said that having known the Benue politician for more than a decade, he was confident that Senator Akume would add value to the President Tinubu administration and Nigeria as a whole.

Prof. Okogbaa recalled that the good people of Benue provided him safe passage to and from Abuja over the hundreds of trips he made during the early and heady days of security crises.

Equally important, the good people of Benue gave him the students and academic staff that made it possible for the Federal University Wukari to take off.

Prof. Okogbaa prayed for God’s guidance on Akume as he continued in service of his fatherland.
