    Nasarawa Police Arrests Two Fleeing Car Thieves, Recover Vehicle

    The suspects

    Two men, a mechanic and his accomplice have been arrested by the Police in Nasarawa State for car theft.

    This was contained in a statement signed on Sunday for the Commissioner of Police Nasarawa State Command, Maiyaki Baba, by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ramhan Nansel.

    The CP said that on 19/7/2023 at about 16:00 hours, a complaint was lodged at ‘B’ Division Lafia that on 1/6/2023 a Toyota Corolla, 2015 model was given to a mechanic in Lafia for repairs.

    The suspect took away the vehicle to an unknown destination and all efforts to reach him proved abortive.

    Following the complaint, Police detectives attached to ‘B’ Division, Lafia carried out an extensive investigation into the case.

    Consequently, the prime suspect, Sani Musa Labaran 49 years of shinge road, Lafia was trailed and arrested at Gembu, Taraba State while his accomplice, Ibeto Nwobodo 38 years of Faringada, Jos was arrested in Jos.

    Upon interrogation, the suspects confessed to having conspired to sell the vehicle for two million and five hundred thousand naira.

    The Commissioner of Police, Maiyaki Baba has commended the officers for a job well done and ordered that the suspects should be charged to Court for prosecution.
