In what appeared to be one of his last official engagements as Governor of Delta State, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa commissioned the newly expanded Warri/Sapele road.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) reported this on its Twitter handle, @OfficialPDPNg on Wednesday.
The PDP said that this was in a bid to establish strong framework for enduring infrastructural growth in the bustling cities of Warri and Effurun.
The party said that the administration of Dr. Okowa took fundamental steps to ensure the longevity of the roads.
@OfficialPDPNg wrote: “Earlier today, Governor @IAOkowa commissioned the newly expanded Warri/Sapele Road, stretching from Effurun Roundabout to Enerhen Junction.
“In a bid to establish a strong framework for enduring infrastructural growth in the bustling cities of Warri and Effurun, Governor Okowa’s administration began with the implementation of comprehensive storm drainage projects.
“By incorporating these vital measures, his administration had ensured that all future road constructions are accompanied by efficient drainage channels.
“This fundamental step guarantees the longevity and resilience of the roads, as they can effectively withstand the test of time.”
