The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, (SGF), Sen. George Akume, on behalf of the Federal Executive Council (FEC), mourns the death of the former Minister of State for Education,  Olorogun Kenneth Gbagi, aged, 62.

Segun Imohiosen the Director, Information & Public Relations revealed this in a statement signed on Monday for the SGF.

Gbagi  was appointed Minister of State for Education during the tenure of former President Goodluck Jonathan.

He contributed immensely to the development of Basic and Secondary Sectors, such as the Almajiri Education Programme.

The SGF eulogized the late former Minister as  an irreproachable statesman with high moral rectitude, who left over N800 million in the coffers of Delta Development and Property Authority (DDPA) when he held sway as its Chairman.

He urged Nigerians to imitate his good virtues to support the anti-graft efforts of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Sen. Akume described the late Gbagi as a quintessential politician, a criminologist extraordinaire and a great industrialist, whose indelible marks in the development of Nigeria’s politics, education, security and economy will outlive him and also serve as a reference point for posterity.

The SGF therefore commiserated with the Government and people of Delta State, his immediate family and prayed to God to grant the soul of the departed eternal rest.
