The Theatre Commander (TC), Joint Task Force North West, Operation FANSAN YAMMA (JTF NW OPFY), Major General WB Idris, has commended the Commandant and management of Command Science Secondary School (Girls), Gusau (CSSSG), for their commitment to improving the standard of education and infrastructure at the institution.

    Lieutenant Colonel Aliyu Danja, the
Media Information Officer, Joint Task Force (North West) Operation FANSAN YAMMA disclosed this in a statement signed on Friday.

The commendation was made by the TC during his visit to the school on Friday, 17 July 2026.

The Theatre Commander and his entourage were received by the Commandant, Major F Jimoh, who presented a comprehensive brief on the school’s current state, recent achievements, and prevailing challenges.

She expressed appreciation to the Theatre Commander for taking time to visit the school and for his interest in its growth and development.

Responding to the brief, Major General Idris praised Major Jimoh’s leadership and the remarkable progress recorded within her relatively short period in office.

He emphasized that education remains a critical pillar for national development and moral upbringing, particularly for the children of military personnel.

He further urged the Commandant to sustain the current momentum by addressing issues promptly before challenges develop into major issues.

He also commended members of staff for their dedication, noting that the Commandant’s achievements reflected their collective commitment to the success of the school.

Addressing the students, Major General Idris encouraged them to remain focused on their studies and strive for academic excellence in order to secure admission into reputable higher institutions of learning.

He reminded them that the future of the nation rests on the shoulders of today’s youth and urged them to embrace discipline, hard work, and integrity.

“The future of this country lies in your hands. You must therefore study diligently so that you will be well prepared to contribute meaningfully to the development of our nation,” he said.

The visit concluded with an inspection of key facilities, including staff quarters, students’ hostels, dining halls, and places of worship.

During the tour, the Theatre Commander approved immediate interventions to address some pressing needs and assured the school management that major issues would be forwarded to the appropriate higher authorities for necessary action.

The visit also featured an interactive session with staff and students, presentation of souvenirs, a vote of thanks by the students’ representative, and a group photograph to commemorate the occasion.

The Theatre Commander was accompanied by the Deputy Theatre Commander, Air Vice Marshal UK Abdullahi; the Commanding Officer, Administration Battalion, Lieutenant Colonel S.A. Ochala; and other senior officers of Headquarters, Joint Task Force North West, Operation FANSAN YAMMA.
