    WMO Secretary – General, Celeste Saulo Welcomes Council Members To Ongoing Annual Meeting

    Left To Right: Prof. Charles Anosike, DG/CEO of the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) and Nigeria’s Permanent Representative with World Meteorological Organization (WMO), and Dr. Abdulla Al Mandous – President of World Meteorological Organization (WMO), at the ongoing WMO Executive Council in Geneva, Switzerland.

    The Secretary – General of World Meteorological Organization (WMO), Prof. Celeste Saulo has welcomed council members of the Organization to the ongoing annual meeting.

    The meeting is presided over by the President of WMO, Dr. Abdulla Al Mandous, and marks the first annual session for Prof. Celeste Saulo as WMO Secretary-General.

    The Director General and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) and Nigeria’s Permanent Representative with World Meteorological Organization (WMO), Prof. Charles Anosike, alongside other members of WMO Executive Council, are currently attending the annual meeting of the Executive Council.

    Welcoming the Council members, the Secretary General, Prof. Celeste Saulo, said: “Climate Change impacts and extreme weather greatly increase the need for strong National Meteorological and Hydrological Services.

    “Together, we can save lives and build resilience in a changing climate”.

    Top line agenda at the meeting included hashtag#EarlyWarningsForAll and Global Greenhouse Gas Watch.
