
***As Intelligence-Led Operations Sustain Pressure on Terrorist Elements

Troops of the Joint Task Force (North East), Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), have recorded another operational success following an intelligence-led operation against Boko Haram terrorists in the Lamusuri general area, Gujba LGA of Yobe State.

Headquarters Joint Task Force (North East), Operation HADIN KAI disclosed this in a statement signed on Tuesday.
At about 11:00 am on 1 September 2026, troops of 120 Task Force Battalion under sector 2, in conjunction with members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), acting on credible intelligence, conducted an operation along a suspected terrorist route within the area.
During the operation, troops sighted a group of Boko Haram terrorists moving along the identified route and engaged them.
A firefight ensued, during which one terrorist was neutralised, while others fled the area with suspected gunshot wounds.
Following the engagement, troops conducted an exploitation of the area and recovered one AK-47 rifle, 3 magazines, 90 rounds of 7.62mm Special ammunition and one body pouch.
The successful operation underscores the effectiveness of sustained intelligence-led operations and the continued collaboration between troops and local security stakeholders in identifying and disrupting terrorist activities across the North East Theatre.
Troops of Operation HADIN KAI remain vigilant and resolute in maintaining pressure on terrorist elements, denying them freedom of action and creating conditions for the restoration of lasting peace and security across the region.
