The Minister of Environment, Balarabe Abbas Lawal on Wednesday, paid a visit to his colleagues in the Ministry of Works, Sen. David Nweze Umahi and the Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Arc. Ahmed Musa Dangiwarzo and the Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development Hon. Abdullahi Tijjani Gwarzo in their offices, Mabushi Abuja.
The Minister described his visit as necessary because this would further strengthen the existing collaboration between the three Ministries.
He said: “Partnership and collaboration between the three Ministers would enable the Ministries achieve their mandates as stipulated during Presidential retreat.”
Lawal said the area of collaborations would include environmental impact assessment, planting of trees, erosion control, pollution control and Climate Change among others.
He assured his colleagues that Ministry of Environment would achieve the mandate given to it by Mr. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on six key priority areas related to environment as contained in eight points Economic Agenda of the present administration.
The three Ministers commended the Minister of Environment, Balarabe Abbas Lawal and assured him that their Ministries would always be ready to comply with environmental regulations.
It would be recalled that the newly deployed Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Works, Dr. Yakubu Kofar Mata paid similar working visit to his counter part in Federal Ministry of Environment, Mahmud Adam Kambari who was also recently deployed to the Ministry.
The visit was to further strengthen collaboration and cordial working relationship between the Ministries.
