“Take a Bow and Go” were the words echoed with affirmation from the Senate President during her screening at the esteemed chamber.

Witnessing this moment filled me with admiration and hope for the future of Nigerian women and girls.

Although I had encountered her at various events and in the homes of politicians, I quickly turned to Google to gather more information about her.

My purpose was to document her achievements for personal reasons, and I was thoroughly convinced by the information I discovered about her and her contemporaries.

As I delved deeper, Google revealed her as an astute politician and public administrator with years of experience.

News began to circulate about her intention to run for the Senate, and I found myself taken aback.

Nonetheless, I murmured to myself, “She still has unfinished business with Nigerian women, but wherever she decides to go, I will support her because she truly deserves it.”

To my joy, I discovered that she will remain with us till the end of the administration.

A quick glance at her profile showed her unwavering support for women, and her influence and strong network were evident in her accomplishments.

She has served as a mentor to numerous women and girls, implementing sustainable projects across the nation.

Dame Tallen is a genuine advocate for women and a resilient champion for their cause. I proudly refer to her as a lobbyist, an elegant stallion —truly “Mama For The Girls.”

I recall inviting her to a women’s day football event shortly before the COVID-19 lockdown in 2019 and despite her demanding schedule, she showed up, and the same thing in 2022, where she arrived even before the playing team.

Her office is accessible, and she ensures that she meets with those who request an audience.

Regardless of the location, Mrs. Tallen consistently rises to address issues of abuse or concern.

Dame Tallen is a woman whose leadership style is intentional, as attested by those who surround her.

She is a goal-oriented individual, a problem solver, and indeed a mother and administrator.

Hailing from Plateau State, she serves as a pillar of support for every Nigerian woman.

Women in governance, administration, and particularly young women in politics across the nation benefit from her lined-up initiatives in partnership with development partners.

She has effectively influenced policies and worked seamlessly with civil society organizations to combat gender-based violence, reduce child marriage, and achieve significant milestones despite limited funds.

She is a trailblazer, making history by convincing a sitting First Lady to visit the National Assembly to advocate for women’s rights.

As a serving minister, she openly joined protests in support of Nigerian women.

Whether loved or hated, she does not merely pay lip service to women and girls’ empowerment.

I extend my gratitude for her outstanding work, and I consider us fortunate. I wish her the very best as she continues her journey.

May she continue to inspire and mentor young women as she has done so admirably thus far!

The person who will fill her vacuum has a lot of work to do in equaling and surpassing her excellent records.

Fare thee well, The Dame of our time.

Love and Miss you, Mama for the girls.
