Former President of the United States, Barack Obama has joined thousands of fans around the world to honor the late American pop singer, Tina Turner.
Popularly called the Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll, Tina Turner’s death shocked her fans all over the world.
She died at the age of 83 in her home in Switzerland after suffering a long illness, her spokesperson said in a statement.
Barack Obama took to his Twitter handle, @BarackObama to pay glowing tributes to her.
@BarackObama wrote: “Tina Turner was raw. She was powerful. She was unstoppable. And she was unapologetically herself—speaking and singing her truth through joy and pain; triumph and tragedy.
“Today we join fans around the world in honoring the Queen of Rock and Roll, and a star whose light will never fade.”
In many gatherings in Nigeria today, fans listened to the late Rock Star’s songs in remembrance of her.
