The Police in Nasarawa State arrested a car thief who stole a stationary vehicle and attempted to drive it out of the State.
Police Public Relations Officer, (PPRO), DSP Ramhan Nansel revealed this in a statement signed on Sunday for the
Commissioner of Police,
Nasarawa State Command, CP Shehu Nadada.
DSP Ramhan Nansel said: “On Friday, at about 11:24hours, a complaint was lodged at Nasarawa Division by one Aisha Usman of Federal Polytechnic, Nasarawa that she parked her car, a red Toyota Corolla with registration number NSW 949 PJ at the premises of Government Day Secondary, by Nasarawa Main market and later discovered it had been taken away.
“Upon receipt of the complaint, a manhunt was launched to arrest the suspect and recover the stolen vehicle.
“The effort paid off when one Yusuf Isah of Koton Karfe Local Government Area of Kogi State was intercepted by well-meaning members of the public along up oversea road.
“Consequently, the Police were called upon, and the suspect was arrested, and the vehicle was recovered from him as exhibit.”
While commending members of the public for their support, the Commissioner of Police, CP Umar Shehu Nadada assured them of the Command’s unwavering commitment to their safety.
