The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) Emergency Response Team deployed following the passenger train incident along the Agbor axis of Delta State has conducted a rapid assessment at the accident site and hospitals where injured passengers were evacuated for medical attention.

The Head of NEMA Benin Operations Office, Mr. Kenoma Ojuederie, who led the team, worked in collaboration with the Delta State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), the Nigerian Police Force, the Department of State Services (DSS), the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), the Nigerian Red Cross Society (NRCS), and other relevant stakeholders during the response activities and assessment.

NEMA will continue to work closely with the Delta State Government, emergency response agencies, security services, health authorities, and humanitarian partners to provide necessary support to affected passengers and their families while monitoring developments arising from the incident.
