The State Controller of the Nigerian Correctional Service Ogun state Command, Controller of Corrections (CC) Abdul Rasheed Alimi has said that the military presence in Ogun and its environs had boosted citizens’ confidence and served as a deterrent to miscreants.
CC Alimi made this statement during the visit of Commander 35 Artillery Brigade, Brigadier General MT Aminu, to his office on Tuesday at the Federal Secretariat in Abeokuta.
Mr Alimi appreciated the Brigade Commander for his efforts toward ensuring peace and stability in Ogun State and its environs.
Brigadier General Aminu expressed appreciation for the continuous synergy enjoyed among security agencies within the state.
The Commander said the visit was part of his familiarisation tour to heads of other security agencies and significant stakeholders in ensuring stability, peace, and security in Ogun State.
CC Alimi welcomed the Commander and members of his entourage to the Headquarters NCoS Ogun State Command.
He appealed for more collaboration and synergy between Nigerian Correctional Service and the military to safeguard inmates detained at all correctional facilities in Ogun state.
He promised to support the military whenever the need arose.
Highpoint of the event was the signing of visitors’ books, the presentation of plaques, and group photographs.
