With the Governorship inauguration ceremony scheduled to take place on May 29, 2023 at Lafia Square, the Commissioner of Police Nasarawa State Command, CP Maiyaki Baba has ordered comprehensive deployment of Police operatives.
The Command’s Spokesperson, DSP Ramhan Nansel said in a statement signed on Sunday on behalf of the CP, that the Police would operate in collaboration with sister security agencies to provide adequate security coverage of the state and venue of the ceremony.
Humsimedia gathered that CP Maiyaki Baba urged members of the public with no business being at the venue of the ceremony to stay away.
The Police authority warned miscreants who may want to distrupt the activities to have a rethink as the Command had put measures in place to deal decisively with anyone found breaching the peace.
The Command also informed the public that there would be traffic diversions in Lafia metropolis from 6am to 2pm on Monday.
The Police said the diversion was part of efforts to ensure free flow of traffic.
The Police therefore urged members of the public to be law abiding and cooperate with Officers on duty inorder to have a peaceful inauguration ceremony.
