The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, received the Executive Governor of Taraba State, Dr. Agbu Kefas, on a courtesy visit to the Force Headquarters, Abuja.

CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, the Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO) disclosed this in a statement signed on Thursday.

The engagement underscored the ongoing commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to sustain professional institutional alliances aimed at fortifying national security and public safety.

The Governor was accompanied by a distinguished delegation, including Senator Shuaibu Lau of Taraba North, Senator David Jimkuta of Taraba South, and Senator Haruna Manu of Taraba Central.

The entourage also featured members of the Federal House of Representatives, specifically Honourable Abdullahi Mohammed Lauwa, Honourable David Abel, Honourable Ayuba Zaku, and other distinguished members of the Green Chamber, alongside the State Commissioners for Justice, Information, and Finance.

Governor Kefas commended the IGP’s leadership and specifically acknowledged the Force’s commitment to restoring peace in Karim Lamido, an area recently designated by the state as a “Special Area of Security Concern”.

He reaffirmed his administration’s resolve to prioritize logistical support for the State Police Command, ensuring that personnel are adequately equipped to maintain the highest standards of operational efficiency.

In his response, IGP Egbetokun described the visit as a vital step in deepening the strategic synergy required for effective community-oriented policing.

He said that the security of Taraba State remains a frontline operational priority, pledging that the Force will continue to deploy necessary assets and leverage intelligence-driven strategies to safeguard lives and property, with particular focus on the stabilization of the Karim Lamido area.

The Nigeria Police Force remains steadfast in its mission to collaborate with state executives to ensure the dignity and security of all citizens.

The visit served as a definitive milestone in the collective efforts to foster a safer environment and restore public trust in the nation’s security architecture.
