Minister of State for Environment, Dr Iziaq Adekunle Salako has called on the media to partner with the ministry to increase public awareness on energy transition.

Dr Salako made the call while receiving Energy Transition Symposium Report and Communique by Development Agenda Magazine in Abuja.

Dr. Salako noted that the Magazine was promoting public awareness on energy transition in the country and urged other media outfits to emulate it.

The Minister revealed that most of the challenges we faced on energy transition was as a result of ignorance, emphasizing that media has a greater role to play to educate the populace on environmental sustainability.

Earlier, the Editor -in-Chief of the Magazine, Paddy Ezeala believed that energy transition was growing faster and the need to educate our people to utilize it is the only way forward.

Paddy also stated that energy transition without tackling the challenges of deforestation of our forests would not provide the desired result in achieving the target.
