    FG Alerts On Flood In Seven States, Advises Populations Living Along Jebba To Lokoja To Evacuate

    The Federal Ministry of Environment has issued an advisory on impending floods in seven states due to rising Waters On the River Niger.

    The flood alert affects 29 communities in: Benue, Borno, Gombe, Kebbi, Nasarawa, Niger and Yobe.

    Here’s a full text of the Advisory:

    Flood Prediction:

    In addition to the flood prediction of August 20, the following locations and their environs are likely to witness heavy rainfall that may lead to flooding within the prediction period: August 23-24, 2025.

    Benue: Abinsi, Makurdi, Agyo, Gbajimba, Gogo, Mbapa, Otobi, Otukpo, Udoma, Ukpiam.

    Borno: Briyel, Dikwa, Maiduguri.

    Gombe: Bajoga, Gombe, Dogon Ruwa, Nafada.

    Kebbi: Gwandu, Jega, Kamba.

    Nasarawa: Keffi, Keana, Agima, Odogbo, Rukubi

    Niger: Lapai

    Yobe State: Gashua, Gasma, Potiskum

    Due to the rise in the water level in the River Niger, communities on the flood plains from Jebba to Lokoja are advised to evacuate.

    Relevant authorities should kindly take note.
