Reactions have continued to pour in from Nigerians following the United Kingdom Court ruling on the case of organ trafficking involving former Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu.
Responding to a post on Twitter written by Kaduna State’s Senator Shehu Sani, different shades of opinions began to pour in from Nigerians.
While some symphatised with the former Deputy Senate President and his family over their travails, others blasted him, telling him to carry his cross.
Meanwhile, Senator Shehu Sani’s tweet came in the form of a prayer, asking the Ekweremadu family to take solace in God.
Recall that Senator Ekweremadu, his wife Beatrice and a medical doctor, Obinna Obeta, had been standing trial in the United Kingdom since 2022 following a busted attempt to acquire a kidney from a donor for their ailing daughter, Sonia.
Sonia was said to have been needing to under a kidney transplant surgery at the time.
The Court jailed Senator Ekweremadu to nine years and eight months for attempt to harvest a young man’s kidney for his daughter, Sonia’s treatment.
For the same offence, Beatrice Ekweremadu was handed a four years and six months jail sentence with the doctor, Obinna Obeta receiving 10 years sentence.
