Pega & Friends Foundation is a non-profit non-governmental organization that reaches out to the forgotten people in the society (women, youths and children especially) so as to give them hope and make life worth living.

The joy of pupils and teachers of some selected schools across in some geopolitical regions of Nigeria knew no bound as Pega and friends Foundation celebrated the Children’s Day with them. Among the beneficiary schools are:

LEA Primary School Jahi, Kadokuchi, Abuja, Saint Peters Anglican Primary School, Ologorin, Ogun State, African Church School, Yobo and Christ African Church Primary School Igbore, Abeokuta.

Director, Pega and Friends foundation, Prince Ekunola Gbenga Abraham gave this information in a statement signed on Wednesday.

The Foundation celebrates Children’s Day with a mission statement to help less-privileged children in Nigeria achieve their maximum potentials by empowering them to create a brighter future.

Pega and Friends foundation put smiles on the faces of about six thousand, five hundred (6,500) kids.

Educational relief materials were given to the pupils present in the school during the celebration. This was to encourage the pupils to be regular and punctual in school.

The Foundation championed by the Mandela of Yewa Land, Prince Ekunola Gbenga Abraham and some members of the foundation visited these schools to celebrate the occasion of the Children’s Day.

Members of the Foundation who came from all corners of the country where seen having fun with the pupils as well as charging them for a better tomorrow.

Ekunola spoke through Chairperson Social Committee of the foundation Madam Sunmisola Adeyemi.

He said he was delighted to deliver on the mission statement of the foundation by giving back to less-privileged kids in the society, who were the future of tomorrow.

He noted that he was never in doubt of the potentials that less-privileged kids possessed but added that for them to attain their full potentials they must be supported by well-meaning individuals in the society and corporate bodies, who have crucial roles to play in capacity development of young ones.

The end of Ekunola’s speech was greeted by wild applause from the kids, teachers and elders who turned out in their numbers for the ceremony.

Head Teacher of LEA Primary School Jahi, Kadokuchi Abuja, Lady Arhanmhunde Edith thanked Pega for remembering pupils of her school.

She said that it was a unique gesture being extended to them as far as her memory can recall.

Arhanmhunde urged successful Nigerians to help the needy ones in the society, warning that failure to do such would only increase the number of delinquents in the land.

Also Mrs. Bello, Head Teacher of Saint Peters Anglican Primary School, Ologorin, Ogun State expressed gratitude to the foundation: ”We thank Gbenga Ekunola and his friends for this kind gesture and hope that others will emulate him so that the future of these little ones will be brighter”.

The gifts in the goody bags were given to the pupils, who beamed with wild smiles as they danced away to the blaring sound.

Receiving the quests, the Head Teacher of African Church School, Yobo said that the school had been neglected by those expected to be supporting its growth.

She thanked Pega and Friends Foundation for associating with them and creating and making impact on the society.

The atmosphere was not different at Christ African Church Primary School Igbore, Abeokuta.

Students were so happy to receive the foundation and the gesture was applauded by the school authority.

Meanwhile, Traditional Ruler of Pahayi Emmanuel Olabisi Ekunola; lauded the kind gesture of the Pega and friends Foundation, describing it as a Save Our Soul intervention.

PEGA who is also the Coordinator of Yewa Connecting Minds hails from Pahayi, a town via Ilaro-Yewa in Ogun State.

It would be recalled that recently, the foundation also visited several schools, correctional centres, motherless homes and villages across Nigeria to support the less privileged.
