Following the incident, NEMA’s Director General, Mrs. Zubaida Umar activated NEMA’s Sokoto Operations Office that deployed a rescue team to respond to the situation. Preliminary reports indicated that the explosion resulted in the immediate loss of three lives and injured around 50 individuals.
