The National Emergency Management Agency, (NEMA) Yola Operations Office on Thursday, received a report about a boat accident that occurred along the River Benue near Njuwa community in Yola South, Adamawa State. Initial investigations revealed that the boat was carrying 23 passengers. Seven persons have been successfully rescued with the assistance of local divers. Sadly one person had been reported as deceased, and at the time of this report, fifteen people are still unaccounted for. NEMA, in collaboration with ADSEMA and various other stakeholders, is actively coordinating search and rescue operations to locate the missing passengers.
