Angel Prince Isong, Biographer and Creative writer and founder of Meet & Impact, in conjunction with God’s City International Ministries, in Friday, hosted a Love Fiesta to mark the 2025 Valentine’s Day celebration.
Messages such as Jesus is the greatest lover, Love does not lie, Love Knows no hate, Love is harmless, Love does not slander, Love does not kill, Love is not aggressive, were displayed.
The event featured a unique question-based discussion where the attendees anonymously submitted questions upon arrival, which were randomly selected and presented to the speakers for thoughtful responses.
The Senior Pastor of God’s City International Ministries, Prince Ikechi officially inaugurated the God’s City Youth wing, with a cutting of the cake which marked the highpoint of the event.
In a welcome address, Angel Prince gave a brief history of what the Meet and Impact represented.
Angel Prince said: “Since 2019, my friends and I have dedicated ourselves to intensive humanitarian service through Meet and Impact, a platform I founded in 2018 to add value to communities.
“Through Meet and Impact, we’ve provided peace, sensitization and humanitarian assistance in rural communities and schools across Cross River State, Nasarawa, Edo State, Delta State, and the Federal Capital Territory.
“This year, we’re collaborating with God’s City International Ministries to inspire a generation to celebrate Valentine’s Day in a way that honors God and promotes moral values.
“Our goal is to ignite positive change among youths by fostering a deeper understanding of love, family, and social structure.”
Keynote speaker, Dr. Nneamaka Obodo gave a resounding and captivating speech hinged on love, morals and values.
Dr. Obodo said: “These concepts are familiar to us, but I’d like to reemphasize their significance, reshape our focus, and deepen our insights.
“When asked to define love, people often describe it as a feeling, the butterflies in their stomach when they see that special someone or the gifts they exchange.
“Others might say it’s the flowers, random flashes that make you smile, chocolates, and romantic getaways that bring a smile to their faces. Some may even describe it as showing care and affection.
“While these descriptions aren’t wrong, I’d like to offer a different perspective. Love is a choice – an intentional act. It’s why we hear people say, “I don’t want this person in my life,” or “I want to be friends with this person.” When asked why, they might not have a concrete reason.
“Love is also a commitment and a way of life. It’s not something we do only when we feel like it, when it’s comfortable, or when it benefits us. Love should be a lifestyle, an identity.
“At its core, love is selflessness, kindness, forgiveness and compassion. It’s the foundation of strong relationships, families, and communities.
“Morals and values, on the other hand, are the principles that guide our actions and decisions. They shape our character, influence our behavior, and determine our impact on the world.
“As we celebrate Valentine’s Day, it’s easy to get caught up in the commercialization of love. But as we explore the topic of love, values, and morals, I want to challenge you to think deeper. I want to challenge you to consider what it means to truly love and be loved.
“In a world where social media dominates our lives, where relationships are often reduced to likes and comments, and where morality and values are constantly being redefined, it’s more important than ever for our youth to have a strong foundation of what it means to love and be loved.
“Throughout this program, we will explore the intersection of love, values, and morals, and how they impact our relationships, our communities, and our world. We will discuss the importance of self-love, healthy relationships, and moral character.
“But this program is not just about talking – it’s about action. It’s about empowering our youth to make a difference in their own lives and in the lives of those around them.
“So, what can we do to cultivate love, morals, and values in our relationships, especially on Valentine’s Day?
“First, let’s redefine what love means to us. Let’s move beyond the superficial and focus on the deeper aspects of love, such as commitment, trust, and mutual respect.
“Second, let’s prioritize communication, empathy, and understanding in our relationships. Let’s listen actively, speak kindly, and seek to understand each other’s perspectives.
“Third, let’s celebrate the values that matter most to us, such as honesty, loyalty, and kindness. Let’s recognize and appreciate the efforts our loved ones make to uphold these values.
“Fourth, let’s not just focus on romantic love, but also on the other forms of love that enrich our lives, such as familial love, friendship, and self-love.
“Finally, let’s remember that love, morals, and values are not just for one day, but for every day. Let’s strive to cultivate these qualities in our relationships, not just on Valentine’s Day, but throughout the year.
“Lastly, as we celebrate Valentine’s Day, let us remember that love, morals, and values are the foundation of strong, healthy, and fulfilling relationships.
“Let us prioritize these qualities, not just today, but every day, and create a world where love, kindness, and compassion thrive.”
The event was participatory as the audience took part in so many games, with the winners taking home fantastic prizes.
