The Anambra State Chapter of the Social Democratic Party has disowned former Senator who represented Anambra South in the National Assembly, Dr Ugochukwu Uba, stating that he is not a registered or card carrying member of the party in Uga Ward 1, Aguata local government of Anambra State.
The Anambra SDP State chairman warned Dr Ugochukwu Uba to stop parading himself as member of SDP.
In a press release jointly signed by SDP Aguata Local government chairman, Chief Umeh Wisdom Chimaobi and Anambra SDP State Chairman Chief Vincent Chukwura in Awka, the capital of Anambra State on Friday, the party’s leadership in Anambra State, Aguata local government area and Uga Ward 1 emphasised that Senator Ugochukwu Uba had been falsely parading himself as member of the party.
“It has come to our notice that certain One Ugochukwu Uba, is parading himself as member of SDP.
“However, neither the SDP’s ward chairman of Uga ward 1 political ward or the Chairman of Aguata Local Government Chapter or chairman Anambra SDP State Chapter nor the leadership of the party at these three levels or Chapters have any record of memberships of Ugochukwu Uba.”
Anambra State SDP, therefore, advised the general public and the national leadership of the party to dissociate and avoid any relationship or engagements with Ugochukwu Uba with regards to his membership in Social Democratic Party, SDP.
They added that the SDP Constitution clearly outlined the process and procedure for joining the party as a member, which included registration and being a card carrying member.
They emphasised that the Anambra State SDP remained open and welcoming to all prospective members who adhere to the established procedures of the party.
