    Abuja-Kaduna Train Derailment: FEMD Tasks Railway Corporation On Security, Maintenance

    The Ag Director General of FEMD, Engr Abdulrahman Mohammed has appealed to the Nigeria Railway Corporation, (NRC) to do more in terms of security and maintenance of the trains and rail tracks.

    Nkechi Isa, FEMD’s Head of Public Affairs disclosed this in a statement signed on Tuesday.

    While commending the NRC on its efforts to respond to the situation, Engineer Abdulrahman said this would ensure that the rail tracks are not sabotaged.

    He commiserated with passengers on the Abuja-Kaduna train which derailed on Tuesday morning.

    The passenger train departed Abuja around 9.45am today en route Kaduna when it derailed at about 11.09 at 49 kilo meters between Kubwa and Asham.

    Confirming the incident the Nigeria Railway Corporation has activated emergency and security services to the incident site.
