He made this statement while delivering a lecture at the Army War College Nigeria (AWCN) to participants of AWCN Course 9/2025 at the College Lecture Hall in Asokoro, Abuja.

The Ministe emphasized that national security threats are evolving rapidly, requiring a dynamic and well-equipped military to counter them. According to him, the Ministry of Defence has prioritized intelligence gathering, modernizing the Armed Forces, and fostering strategic partnerships to enhance operational readiness.

“A well-equipped military is key to defeating emerging security threats. We are committed to providing the Nigerian Armed Forces with the necessary tools, intelligence, and technology to stay ahead of adversaries,” he said.

The Minister highlighted key investments made by the Ministry, including the acquisition of Mine-Resistant Ambush-Protected (MRAP) vehicles, advanced surveillance drones, and upgraded air and land combat platforms.

He noted that the restructuring of force deployment and enhancement of personnel welfare remain central to achieving operational effectiveness.

The Minister also stressed the need for improved civil-military cooperation, adding that national security requires a whole-of-society approach.

He commended participants of AWCN Course 9/2025 for their dedication to military strategy and leadership, urging them to apply their knowledge in defending Nigeria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
