His Royal Majesty, the Asagba of Asaba, Professor Epiphany Azinge has showered deserving encomium on the Corps Marshal, Federal Road Safety Corps, Shehu Mohammed and the entire staff of the Corps for their resilience and commitment to entrenching safety on Nigerian roads.

    Olusegun Ogungbemide, the
    Assistant Corps Marshal,
Corps Public Education Officer at the
    FRSC Road Safety Corps
Headquarters, Abuja disclosed this in a statement signed on Tuesday.

The Asagba of Asaba was speaking during the Corps Marshal’s visit to his palace in Asaba, Delta State on Tuesday 24 December, 2024.

The royal father stressed with particular emphasis, the role that the Corps plays in keeping Delta State roads and the nation’s highways safe.

He congratulated the Corps Marshal on his appointment and articulated the need for all and sundry to align with the vision of FRSC and rise up to the occasion of bringing down the curve of crashes on our roads.

Sighting the prevalent challenges militating against smooth flow of traffic, particularly on the Niger bridges, His Royal Majesty, pledged the readiness of the entire Asaba people to partner with the Corps to make the roads safer than they already are.

The Corps Marshal appreciated His Majesty for his passion and commitment to entrenching safety on the highways. He revealed that the visit was part of his end of the year traffic monitoring on the nation’s highways, targeted at achieving zero deaths and injuries in line with United Nations Decade of Action on Road Safety and Injury Prevention.

He stated that over the years, the Niger bridges have been notorious for traffic congestion due largely to influx of people from across the country and beyond who are traveling to their homes for the Christmas and New Year celebrations.

Recall that Tiesday marks the third day of Corps Marshal’s monitoring of the nation’s highways.
