The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun on Thursday, received a high-level delegation from the Dubai Police at the Force Headquarters in Abuja.

ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the Force Public Relations (Officer) revealed this in a statement signed on Wednesday.

Humsimedia gathered that the visit was a significant step towards fostering multi-faceted security cooperation between Nigeria and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

During the meeting, the IGP emphasized the importance of collaboration in ensuring the safety and protection of citizens from both countries.

He said that a considerable number of Nigerians lived, worked, and conducted business in Dubai, while many UAE nationals resided and engaged in business activities in Nigeria.

As such, enhanced cooperation was essential to safeguard the interests of both nations’ citizens.

As the Chairman of the West African Police Chiefs Committee (WAPCCO), the IGP highlighted the strategic importance of the visit in strengthening policing partnerships not only between Nigeria and Dubai but also across the West African region.

He expressed his commitment to leveraging this opportunity to foster improved security collaborations, which will benefit the entire sub-region.

The Dubai Police delegation, led by Brigadier General Adel Ahmad Moosa Sanqoor, Assistant of the General Director of Criminal Investigations, expressed appreciation for the warm reception.

He reiterated their commitment to working closely with the Nigeria Police Force in the various areas of mutual interest, including intelligence sharing, joint training programs, and technological advancements in policing.

The meeting concluded with a renewed pledge to deepen security ties and explore new avenues for cooperation, aimed at enhancing the safety and well-being of citizens in both countries and across the West African region.
