The Commissioner of Police, Nasarawa State Command, CP Umar Shehu Nadada on behalf of the Inspector–General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, presented cheques worth N41,478,893.00 to thirty-two families of Police operatives who died while in active service and those who sustained varying degrees of injury while discharging their statutory duties.
Police Public Relations Officer for Nasarawa State Police Command, DSP Ramhan Nansel revealed this in a statement signed on behalf of the Commissioner of Police.
The gesture was an initiative of the Inspector-General of Police family welfare insurance and Group life Assurance aimed at improving the living conditions of families of Police operatives.
While appreciating the Inspector-General of Police for his contribution to supporting the families of officers who lost their lives while in service, and ensuring better welfare of his personnel, the Commissioner of Police urged the beneficiaries to use the money judiciously to train the children left behind and invest in profitable ventures that will, in turn, put food on the table and lessen their suffering.
