A three storey commercial building in the Wuse Zone 4 area of Abuja collapsed on Monday evening.
The FCT Emergency Management Department FEMD received a distress call about the incident at about 7.20pm.
Emergency responders have mobilized to the incident scene.
Eyewitness accounts say there are no casualties so far.
Nkechi Isa, the Head, Public Affairs of FEMD revealed this in a statement.
Meanwhile emergency responders have continued search and rescue operations as they await the arrival of an excavator to enhance the search efforts.
Details regarding the number of persons affected and the cause of the collapse are still emerging.
Members of the public are advised to remain calm and stay away from the scene to allow emergency responders and security personnel unrestricted access for rescue and response operations.
