On July 10, residents of Gummi town in Zamfara State poured into the streets in celebration as troops from Sector 2, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, returned to their base following a highly successful offensive operation.
At the military operation at Dutsen Gidan Hill, nearly 17 km from Gummi town, the military neutralized terrorists and recovered motorcycles used by the bandits in their criminal activities.
The community in their celebration, expressed renewed hope and growing confidence in the ongoing military operations in the region.
In Oyo State at the same time, the Nigerian Armed Forces’ joint operations successfully rescued and brought home, the school children kidnapped and held captive for 56 days by bandits.
A video posted on Instagram by the Nigerian Army, @hqnigerianarmy showing troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA returning to the Gummi community after a successful operations to a jubilant welcome gathered these reactions from visibly grateful Nigerians:
