A Toyota Corolla LE vehicle on Thursday knocked down three pedestrians near the office of the FCT Emergency Management Department (FEMD) at Asokoro.
Nkechi Isa, the FEMD Head Public Affairs disclosed this in a statement signed on Thursday.
One person lost his life during the incident while two others sustained injuries.
The incident was reported to FEMD at about 10.45am today.
According to the Head of FEMD Search and Rescue Team, Mr Monday Adie, the incident occurred when the driver of the Toyota Corolla lost control of the vehicle following brake failure.
The Toyota Corolla vehicle rammed into three pedestrians before coming to stop after it hit a police patrol van.
Two of the survivors of the incident; Nicholas Daduwo, a staff of the High Court Central Area and Ernest Nwah, a resident of Apkabio Asaka street Asokoro have been taken to the Asokoro General Hospital for treatment, while the body of the third victim, a male has also been deposited at the morgue of the hospital.
Similarly, a road traffic accident along Kubwa Expressway has left two persons injured.
The accident occurred when a vehicle moving at top speed hit a Volkswagen Golf from the rear, pushing it into the road side gutter.
Both victims of the incident were taken to the hospital.
