President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has underscored the vital role of marriage as a cornerstone for building national cohesion, unity, and sustainable development.

President Tinubu, who was represented at the the solemnisation of holy matrimony between Miss Deborah Ershima and Mr. Samuel Aondoakur, son of the SGF, said that marriage remained the foundation of the family system, which serves as the bedrock of society.
He said that, strong and stable families are essential for nurturing values such as tolerance, mutual respect, responsibility, and peaceful coexistence – values that are critical to fostering harmony and unity across the nation.
In his vote of thanks, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Sen. George Akume, paid tribute to the President for sending a powerful delegation led by the Vice President to grace the wedding of his son.
He used the opportunity to pray for the governor of Benue State to enable him succeed in the discharge of his duties to the State, saying the task of governance is an onerous task.
After congratulating the couple and wishing them fruitfulness and support, Sen. Akume called on Nigerians to rally behind the country with prayers, noting that the Tinubu-led administration is making significant strides in key sectors of the economy.
He urged Nigerians to support the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda, emphasising the importance of collective efforts in driving progress.
The Executive Governor of Benue State, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia exhorted the couples to allow God to take the centre stage of their lives and their union will enjoy God’s untold blessings.
He urged the couples to add value to the State in their endeavours and promised to support them.
Key dignitaries present at the wedding ceremony were the Minister of Water Resources and Sanitation, Prof. Joseph Terlumun Utsev; Minister of Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs, Hon. Zephaniah Bitrus Jisalo; Minister of Livestock Development, Alhaji Idi Mukhtar Maiha; Director General of National Directorate of Employment (NDE), Mr. Silas Agara, Executive Secretary of Nigeria Shippers Council, Dr. Plus Akutah, members of the National Assembly, members of Benue State House of Assembly and members of the Benue State Executive Council, among other top government functionaries.
