    Women Journalists Unanimously Back Ladi Bala For Second Term As NAWOJ President

    A mammoth gathering of past and present officials of the Nigerian Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) and members turned up on Saturday and fully supported the incumbent President, Comrade Ladi Bala to run for a second term in office.

    The gathering which took place at the Nigerian Union of Journalists, (NUJ) Center in Abuja was the official flag-off campaign of Comrade Ladi Bala, the 10th President of NAWOJ.

    Present were former Presidents of NAWOJ, Chief Mrs Moji Makanjuola, Mrs Evelyn Onyilo and Mrs Kande Daniel who all unequivocally supported Ladi Bala’s reelection as the 11th President of NAWOJ and urged members to vote her in view of her achievements in the last three years of her leadership.

    The Chairperson of Plateau State and National Coordinator of LADI BALA Campaigns, Nene Dung, who represented the DG Campaign, expressed appreciation to journalists for attending the event and with resolve to stand for truth, growth and development of NAWOJ with the understanding that Ladi Bala had proven beyond reasonable doubts to be an exceptional leader with the Midas Touch.

    Mrs Dung therefore, advised all NAWOJians to vote for Ladi Bala as National President of NAWOJ.

    While unfolding her future plans, NAWOJ President, Ladi Bala assured that she would pursue and ensure the building on the newly acquired NAWOJ land, creation of NAWOJ HERVOICE Radio Station to be managed and operated mostly by NAWOJians, trainings, programmes and many more across the country.

    The media veterans pleaded and advised Ladi Bala to shun naysayers but, should remain focused to keep taking NAWOJ to greater heights.

    The former NAWOJ President, Evelyn Onyilo affirmed unwavering support for the two FCT endorsed candidates, President Ladi Bala (present and incoming President) and Chizoba Ogbeche, (incoming Vice President, Zone D) in preparation of the upcoming Triennial Delegates Conference, coming up in FCT on the 25th of November, 2023.

    The FCT NAWOJ Chairperson, Annah Daniel emphasized on “Hosting to win” as the slogan for the upcoming election in the FCT.

    Contestants from different States were in attendance. They included: the incoming Deputy National President – Folake Adeniji, National Secretary – Helen Udofa, VICE President Zone D – Chizoba Ogbeche and Irene Onehi, ZONE D Zonal Secretary – Juliana Ofoku, National Internal Auditor – Joyce Haruna, and Chairpersons from various States.

    Comrade Ladi Bala would be contesting against Aisha Bura, a Public Relations Officer.
