The Action Alliance, (AA) party had withdrawn its petition against the election of the President-elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the commencement of the pre-hearing of the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal in Abuja on Monday,

The AA, however, gave no reason for the withdrawal of its petition against the election of Tinubu.

While responding to questions, the Action Alliance National Chairman, Barr. Kenneth Udeze told Humsimedia that the alleged petition was filed by persons unknown to the party, probably because of their personal interests or whatever they may be seeking to get from the President elect.

Udeze said that when the Action Alliance under his leadership got wind of the “frivolous petition”, he instructed his team of lawyers to file an application to withdraw the said petition on the ground that he did not authorize same.

He described those opposing the President-elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu as impostors who did not represent the Action Alliance.

Udeze said: “When the impostors discovered my water tight application, they quickly ran to Court last week, May 3rd to withdraw the petition to avoid being disgraced.
“So for us in AA it is a victory for my leadership, as those threatening to challenge INEC for wrongful exclusion of their so called candidate have now  made a u turn.
“That is to say, they now agree that all the candidates fielded in the 2023 general election under my leadership remain authentic and legitimate candidates of AA.
“If I had not come with the application, they could have gone ahead to claim the authentic leaders of AA.
“Whoever among the contending presidential candidates at the tribunal that the Court declares as having won the election, AA expect such individual or Party to govern to meet the aspirations and wishes of generality of Nigerians.
When asked if the Action Alliance had withdrawn the case due to threat or intimidation, the National Chairman, Udeze said that his party neither was threatened nor had been influenced in any way by the President-elect.
Chief Udeze said: “From my above explanations, we have no threat Whatsoever from anybody, neither did we have any pact with the president elect to withdraw the said petition.
“Rather, Action Alliance under my leadership wanted to prove a point as to who are the recognized leadership of the Party and we have achieved that”.
