A representative of the Aliko Dangote Foundation, (ADF), Maryam Buhari-Shehu has said the Foundation’s Board of Trustees had resolved to be fully involved in the evacuation and resettling of thousands of Nigerians Sudan fleeing the war in Sudan.
She said the Aliko Dangote Foundation had began the payment of N100,000 and Dignity Packs to each of the Nigerian citizens returning from Sudan.
Represented by the Managing Director of the ADF, Zouera Youssoufou, Mrs Buhari-Shehu said that ADF would continue to support the government in its humanitarian effort.
She said that no fewer than 362 returnees including children were registered by the ADF for the exercise on the first day where three hundred and fifty received the support.
She said that the ADF worked with the Federal Government through its agency, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), and Air Peace to provide assistance to the returnees.
The money and the Dignity Packs were handed out to the returnees upon arrival at the Abuja Airport on Thursday, May 4, 2023.
