The Acting Director-General of National Pension Commission (PenCom), Ms Omolola Oloworaran, has launched the service charter and framework to boost efficiency.

Oloworaran launched the charter framework during the Customer Service Week celebration in Abuja on Thursday.

According to her, the launch is an important milestone for PenCom and the entire pension industry.

“PenCom has an unwavering commitment to ensuring that the services provided to all stakeholders, especially our contributors and retirees, are efficient and also uphold the highest standards of professionalism, transparency, and responsiveness.

“Today’s launch represents a pivotal step forward in strengthening this commitment,” she said.

She said that the service charter was designed to define clear service delivery expectations for the commission, Pension Fund Administrators (PFAs) and other operators.

“It sets the benchmarks that will govern our interactions and ensure that the trust placed in us by the Nigerian public is maintained and continually enhanced.

“As we roll out these initiatives, I want to emphasise that excellent service delivery is not just a regulatory requirement, it is a key driver of confidence in the pension system.

“The security of retirement savings depends heavily on the trust and confidence that contributors and retirees have in the institutions managing their pensions,” Oloworaran said.

She said that the service charter and framework were living documents that would guide the journey towards continuous improvement in the service provided.

“Let us work together to ensure that these commitments are realised, delivering a pension system that not only meets but exceeds the expectations of our contributors,” she said.

PenCom’s Commissioner of Administration, Dr Umar Aminu, said that the commission had done a lot and still willing to do more to ensure that customers were always happy,

“We are here because of them,” he said.

The Commissioner of Finance, Dr. Charles Emukowhate, said that the commission would ensure that the systems and processes were efficient to be able to deliver.
