The Director General and Chief Executive Officer of Nigerian Meteorological Agency, Prof. Charles Anosike, and the Rector of Nigerian College of Aviation Technology, Dr. Danjuma Ismaila, on Monday formalised a strategic partnership with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding at the Agency’s headquarters in Abuja.
The agreement underscores a shared commitment to strengthened collaboration in professional training, capacity development, and enhanced quality of service delivery across the aviation and meteorological sectors.
Under the MoU, both institutions will collaborate in the use of training facilities, advisory support for aviation training programmes, and the delivery of specialised long- and short-term courses for NiMet personnel.
The partnership also provides for staff exchange programmes, joint training initiatives, and the use of NiMet’s Training School in Oshodi, Lagos, for ICAO-compliant aviation training.
The framework further targets key professional areas including aviation operations and management, safety management systems, crisis management, aviation security, air navigation systems, airport operations, and jointly organised programmes such as Diploma training in Aviation Meteorology.
Prof. Anosike reaffirmed the Agency’s commitment to continuous human capital development, noting that sustained investment in training, technical collaboration, and institutional partnership remains critical to advancing operational excellence and supporting safe, efficient air navigation in Nigeria.
