    Nigeria Custom’s Kirikiri Lighter Terminal Command Reports 101% Surge Revenue In 2024

    The Kirikiri Lighter Terminal Customs (KLTC) Area Command reported a 101% surge in revenue in for 2024.

    Comptroller Joy Edeldouk, who announced the impressive figures during the decoration of newly promoted Officers, revealed that the Command generated ₦107,182,674,904 compared to ₦53,429,613,592 in 2023.

    SC JT Ayagbalo, the Public Relations Officer, Kirikiri Lighter Terminal Area Command disclosed this in a statement signed on Wednesday.

    Comptroller Edeldouk stated that the remarkable revenue growth is attributed to the Command’s strategic efforts to strengthen revenue collection, improve compliance, and enhance operational efficiency.

    She highlighted that this success can be traced to several key factors, including:

    Strategic Initiatives: Implementing streamlined processes, leveraging technology, and ensuring excellent stakeholder engagement to facilitate legitimate trade.

    Intelligence-Driven Enforcement: Utilizing data analytics and intelligence gathering to identify and combat smuggling, fraud, and other customs offenses.

    Capacity Building: Providing regular training and development programs for officers to enhance their skills, knowledge, and professionalism.

    Stakeholder Engagement: Fostering collaborative relationships with importers, sister agencies, and other stakeholders to promote compliance and facilitate trade.

    The CAC further stated that the Command intends to implement robust risk management systems and data analytics to enhance revenue collection in 2025.

    While announcing this significant revenue achievement, Comptroller Edeldouk disclosed that 37 officers had been newly promoted within the Command.

    The promoted officers include:

    4 Comptrollers

    3 Deputy Comptrollers

    5 Assistant Comptrollers

    7 Chief Superintendents of Customs

    Others across different ranks.

    Addressing the newly promoted officers, she expressed her pride in their dedication and hard work, stating:

    “I want to say how proud I am of each and everyone of you. Your commitment to excellence, your passion for your work, and your willingness to go above and beyond have not gone unnoticed.

    “This promotion is not just a recognition of your achievements, but also a testament to your potential for future growth and success. I have no doubt that you will continue to excel in your new ranks, inspiring and motivating those around you.

    The CAC expressed gratitude to the Comptroller-General of Customs and the Management Team of the Nigeria Customs Service for their immense support.

    She assured that officers and men of KLTC will continue to work tirelessly to optimize revenue collection while facilitating legitimate trade.
