The Commissioner of Police, Nasarawa State Command, CP Shetima Jauro Mohammed, has urged all vehicle owners and operators who have not yet acquired third-party insurance to do so promptly, in order to avoid legal consequences and promote road safety for all.

Police Public Relations Officer, (PPRO) SP Ramhan Nansel disclosed this on Sunday in a statement signed for the Commissioner of Police, Nasarawa Police Command, CP Shettima Jauro Mohammed.

The action is in line with the directive from the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, to all Police Commands and Formations, mandating the strict adherence of all motor vehicle owners to the third-party insurance requirement as outlined by law.

The statement said: “The Nasarawa State Police Command wishes to inform the public, particularly vehicle owners, that the enforcement of mandatory third-party motor vehicle insurance commenced today, Saturday, 1st February 2025, across the State”.

CP Shetima also expressed his satisfaction with the level of cooperation from the public thus far and emphasized the importance of continued adherence to traffic regulations.
