The Commissioner of Police, Nasarawa State Command, CP Shetima Jauro Mohammed, on behalf of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has presented cheques totaling twenty‐nine million, six hundred and sixty‐three thousand, five hundred and three naira, and twenty-four kobo (N29,663,503.24) to seven families of police operatives who either lost their lives in active service or sustained injuries while performing their duties.
Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, SP Ramhan Nansel, disclosed this on Friday in a statement signed for the Commissioner of Police, Nasarawa State Command, CP Shetima Jauro Mohammed.
The initiative, undertaken by the Inspector-General of Police Group Personal Accident, Group Life Assurance, and IGP Family Welfare Program, is designed to enhance the living standards of families who have suffered loss or injury as a consequence of service in the line of duty.
CP Shetima expressed heartfelt sympathy for the beneficiaries and lauded the Inspector-General for his unwavering commitment to humanitarian service.
He encouraged the recipients to invest the funds in profitable ventures that will secure the future of their families.
On behalf of the beneficiaries, Daniel Mathew conveyed his gratitude for the generous gesture and pledged to make judicious use of the funds.
