The Governor of Benue State, His Excellency Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, has pledged renewed vigor in delivering transformative development that will inspire generations, throughout his tenure.
He made this commitment during a Holy Mass and thanksgiving service at St. Martha’s Catholic Church, Anongo, Mbajor in Vandeikya Local Government Area (LGA).

The event, organized in his honor by Onov Mbera Worldwide—a support group of progressive men and women backing the governor—drew widespread acclaim.
Gov. Alia emphasized that his administration remains people-centered, crediting the electorate for his mandate. “I was elected to serve the people of Benue State, not a few individuals,” he declared. “My mission is clear: to develop the state and improve life for every Benue citizen.”

The governor expressed gratitude to Onov Mbera for the award of honor and their steadfast support.
He urged Kunav sons and daughters, as well as all Benue people, to pray for and back the reelection of President Bola Tinubu and himself ahead of the 2027 general elections.
He highlighted the president’s pivotal role in his administration’s successes, including support for constructing a new church for proper worship.
In his remarks, former Benue Governor and Senator Gabriel Suswam commended Onov Mbera for the event. He called on Kunav people to rally behind their son, Gov. Alia, through prayers and unity against detractors. “The governor has performed incredibly well and deserves a second term,” Suswam stressed.
Convener of Onov Mbera Worldwide and Deputy Chairman of Vandeikya LGA, Hon. Mrs. Janet Orukuna, delivered a vote of thanks. She praised Gov. Alia, the group’s grand patron, for his fatherly guidance and vowed unwavering support for his 2027 reelection.
Other speakers, including Vandeikya LGA Council Chairman Hon. Guda Terkura Dennis, Dr. Solomon Akperekpe, and Chief Abellega Terseer, lauded the governor’s developmental strides and urged continued public support for his administration.

Earlier, in his homily, the chief celebrant and priest-in-charge of St. Martha’s Catholic Church, Rev. Fr. Godwin Biem, urged Christians to embody love, especially during Easter.
He reminded the congregation that Christ’s death was an act of redemptive love for humanity.
A highlight of the event was the presentation of an award of honor to Gov. Alia, the grand patron of the association.
