    Excitement As NIPC Welcomes Newly Appointed CEO, Aisha Rimi

    The Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission (NIPC) has said it is pleased to welcome its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Ms. Aisha Rimi.

    Presidential Spokesman, Chief Ajuri Ngelale announced Aisha Rimi’s appointment as CEO of the NIPC on Friday, October 13, 2023, along with 13 others in the Industry, Trade and Investment Ministry.

    A statement signed on Sunday by NIPC’s Head, Press and Protocol, Daniel Awurum said Rimi’s appointment was symbolic of government’s commitment to advancing Nigeria’s economic development through strategic investment promotion.

    NIPC Management and staff were expected to welcome her as she assumed office on Monday, October 16, 2023, at 9:00 a.m.

    Aisha Rimi is described as a leading transaction Lawyer with expertise in foreign investment and business advisory for doing business in Africa.

    Ms. Rimi has significant experience working with development finance institutions (DFIs) on multi-million-dollar investments in infrastructure projects.

    The statement said that Aisha Rimi’s appointment as CEO of NIPC came at a time when the country was poised to attract significant investments in key sectors including infrastructure, energy, agriculture, and manufacturing.

    Her proven track record and deep understanding of the Nigerian investment landscape is expected to be invaluable in leading NIPC’s efforts to promote and facilitate investments that will create jobs and drive economic growth.

    The NIPC’s mission is to attract investments across various sectors, support investors throughout their journey, and advocate for policies that enhance the investment climate in the country.

    Aisha Rimi’s Background:

    Aisha Rimi hails from Katsina State recently served as the founding partner at Africa Law Practice (ALP), a commercial law firm, and is known for her philanthropic endeavors.

    Early life and education
    She was born and raised in Katsina state as a devout Muslim family.

    She obtained a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree with a specialization in International Commercial Law from the University of Buckingham.

    She furthered her legal education at the same institution, earning a Master of Laws (LLM).

    Aisha played a critical role as an attorney specializing in foreign investment and regulatory compliance.

    Her responsibilities also encompassed providing expert counsel on project finance, corporate and operational joint ventures, and a wide spectrum of commercial legal practices.
