
The Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr Wale Edun, has commended the former Permanent Secretary, Finance (PSF), Mrs Lydia Jafiya, for her resilience and dedication to work.
Edun gave the commendation during the ex- PSF’s retirement dinner in Abuja on Friday.
He also congratulated the new PSF,Mr Raymond Omachi, urging him to be dedicated to his work and continue with the good work.
Edun said that Jafiya demonstrated tremendous capacity, energy, dedication, determination and wisdom that he, as minister, benefited from.
“She has the capacity to travel all round to represent the country, and it is truly amazing; we appreciate the sacrifices.
“We thank you for all you have done, and we know you will continue to do well.
“You are retired but not tired. 35 years in service is no joke, it was a meritorious service to the country,” the minister said.
He commended all the guests for making it to the dinner.
Jafiya, in her remarks, said she was honored by the ministry’s gesture and would miss the staff members.
She urged them to continue to work hard.
The ex-PSF commended the federal government for giving her the opportunity to serve.
Jafiya congratulated the new PSF and expressed confidence in his suitability for the position.
She said that they had worked together for years and had no doubt he would execute his duties well.
“I want to specially thank all the guests for making it here today; it has added colour to this beautiful event.
”To my beautiful family, thanks for all the support you have given me over the years and I give God all the glory,” she said.
